(312) 503-1641 (312) 503-0095 Matthew Bozovsky, MS Graduate Student Matt graduated with a BS degree in 2001 from Loyola University Chicago. He received his MS degree from Loyola in 2004 for work he completed in determining the structure of the chromosome 21 centromere and its relationship to Down syndrome. Matt joined the Integrated Graduate Program in the Life Sciences at Northwestern University in 2004. Krishnarup Ghosh Dastidar, PhD Postdoctoral Researcher Krishnarup did his graduate research studying the molecular basis of the salt tolerant property of an enzyme, L-myo-inositol 1-phosphate synthase from a wild halophytic variety of rice, Porteresia coarctata (Roxb.) Tateoka, in the laboratory of Prof. A.N. Lahiri Majumder at the Plant Molecular and Cellular Genetics section of Bose Institute, India. After completing his PhD degree he joined Dr. Debu Chakravarti’s lab as a postdoctoral researcher in July, 2006. Santanu Palchaudhuri, PhD Postdoctoral Researcher Santanu did his graduate research studying cellular stress responses using the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe as model organism in the laboratory of Prof. Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay in the Dept. of Biochemistry, University of Calcutta, India. After completing his PhD degree in cell and molecular biology in September 2004, he joined Dr. Debu Chakravarti’s lab as a postdoctoral researcher. Currently, he is engaged in investigating physiological roles of THAP domain proteins in human. Rebecca Loomis, PhD Postdoctoral Fellow Rebecca received her BA degree in biochemistry from Colgate University in May 2000 and completed her graduate work at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill under the direction of Dr. Lishan Su in May 2006. Rebecca’s graduate study looked at how RhoA signaling pathways regulated HIV-1 replication. Upon completion of her PhD, Rebecca joined Dr. Chakravarti’s lab as a postdoc. Brandon Parker, PhD Graduate Student Brandon received his BS degree from the University of Florida in 1998. In 2002 he enrolled in the Biomedical Graduate Studies program at the University of Pennsylvania where he is currently a PhD candidate in pharmacological sciences. His thesis research in Dr. Chakravarti's laboratory focuses primarily on the transcriptional regulatory potential of THAP domain family proteins and their roles in cellular and physiological processes.
