The Sitting Biomechanics lab  is directed by Dr. Mohsen Makhsous. Located in the main building of Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and the Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences, this lab actively contributes to help people with disabilities lead the most independent and fulfilling lives possible. The Sitting Biomechanics lab focus is Research, Development and Teaching on rehabilitation related biomechanics, both on clinical prevention/treatment and basic sciences.

Occupational Safety and Health

Occupational Health research in focuses on sitting related problems, mainly low back disorders. This part of research has been supported by NIOSH and our industrial partners. Projects in two major areas, office sitting and vehicle sitting, have been carried out.
