While every source of funding is important, private philanthropic support is especially critical to the ongoing efficiency, quality and patient satisfaction activities that are currently underway in our emergency room on a daily basis. Over the years, the generosity of patients and their loved ones, alumni, and friends of the department has enabled us to attract the best emergency physicians from around the country so we not only provide the most effective, efficient and safe care but do so in an environment of continuous improvement. Extraordinary accomplishments require extraordinary investments. Our talented group of physicians has enabled our department to initiate numerous clinical care improvements (chest pain, sepsis/infection, 5-level patient triage, pulmonary embolism) that impact lives almost immediately upon implementation. From these operational improvements, our department can be at the forefront of major advances in the delivery of emergency medicine care.
