Applying for GME Programs at Northwestern

Individuals interested in applying for residencies or fellowships offered through the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University need to complete the GME Application only if the specific program does not participate in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)

Sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), ERAS is a service that transmits residency applications, letters of recommendation, Dean’s letters/MSPE, transcripts, and other supporting credentials from applicants and medical schools to residency programs using the Internet. The AAMC also offers ERAS Fellowships, an electronic service for individuals applying for fellowship positions.

Participation in ERAS varies from program to program at Northwestern. Applicants should check the application requirements of the specific residency or fellowship programs in which they are interested before completing the McGaw Medical Center’s GME Application ( 118K).
