Welcome to the Department of Anesthesiology at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine (NUFSM). Our Department offers outstanding advanced and categorical residency training programs. Our residents gain clinical experience at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the new Prentice Women's Hospital, which opened in October 20, 2007, and Children's Memorial Hospital, which although currently located 3 miles northwest of NUFSM, is being built adjacent to Prentice Women's Hospital. We look forward to the opening of the new Children's Memorial Hospital in 2012 when residents who match in our program will participate in the transition and train in the new, state-of-the-art medical facility. Christine Stock, MD and Cynthia Wong, MD are co-editors: Clinical Anesthesia and Chestnut's Obstetric Anesthesia, respectively. March 26, 2009 Honorio Benzon, MD, and Robert McCarthy, PharmD, were appointed to the Associate Editorial Board of Analgesia & Anesthesia and Michael Avram, PhD was appointed to the Editorial Board of Anesthesiology.
